Direct Sound’s rates are fair, consistent and based on a standardized formula that takes into account only
the equipment used and the length of the event. This is part of our commitment to professional integrity
and to making as much information available to you as possible. Our pricing is not a secret because it is
not subjective -- we do not engage in "price gouging" our customers based on what we think they can
afford to pay.
Weddings make up 95% of the events we do, and we put a tremendous amount of time and resources into
making sure each wedding is a success. We only perform for one wedding per day, and are meticulous
about their planning and preparation. We gladly (and legally) purchase all of the requested music for every
event we do, and the time we're willing to spend meeting with and communicating with our clients is
limitless.
"How do you set prices?” Because we feel that the only "right" way to do an event is to provide the very
best possible talent, equipment and service, our view is that offering a range of pricing also means
offering a range of quality -- something we would never be willing to do. We can't be half as good for half
the price, or twice as good for twice the price. We will simply do our very best for each of our clients for a
fair price, therefore we stand by our fair and consistent pricing.
We do our best to purchase any music requested if available through Rhapsody music service if not
already in our music database. We take care of any applicable parking fees as needed for our parking
needs
A 50% deposit is required to secure your date with us and we work on a first come retainer system only.
The balance is required 14 days prior to your event.
Our DJ rates include the following as of May 1, 2010:
• Up to 4 Hr for a Standard DJ systems to fit most medium to large size rooms.
• Special Effect Dance Floor Lights such as LED multi colored fine beamed light to spice up the dance
floor and Color Wash light to project a nice color wash on the dance floor that is synchronized to the beat
of the music is included if needed for your event at no additional charge
• Setup and breakdown time, with arrival for load-in guaranteed at least 45 minutes prior to the event
• Travel within 30 miles of our headquarters in Lancaster, Ca.; this covers the entire Antelope Valley, Santa
Clarita areas.

STAIRS WITH NO ELEVATOR AND/OR RAMPS --- Start at $150 additional fee
Requires hiring additional manpower to haul DJ sound and lighting equipment upstairs.! If elevator is not
working at anytime needed for setup or take down- No matter whose fault Client will pay for extra time and
Labor. This is handled on a case by case basis and may limit the amount of gear is brought up the stairs

Low lying Fog Effect “Dancing On A Cloud” is used to highlight special events and dances. For the most
amazing pictures you will ever see. this includes enough Dry Ice to do two to three dances or spotlight
events (restrictions may apply call for details)

Up to 6 Vertical Trussing set around the Dance Floor with or without covers, each pillar is dressed for
uplighting with Moving head fixture for the ability to project images and directional spotlighting. This
allows for moving images ( Gobos ) and spotlighting to be projection for special events, such as the
Grand Entrance, Cake Cutting, First Dance and Bridal Speeches. Also a great lighting effect during
dancing to bring the Night Club Feel for the dancing portion of the event.

2 Moving Head Spot Lights that sits atop of a tripod next to the DJ on the stage or area.
This allows for moving images ( Gobos ) to be projection and spotlighting for special events, such as the

Video Slide Show Production:
Direct Sound photo montage slideshow will transform your favorite photos into an unbelievable
slideshow to be shown at your event, such as Weddings, Anniversaries and Birthday
Parties.
The slideshow is 2D, which makes the slideshow zoom in and out, spin and
move around to your favorite pictures. An average montage runs about ten to
fifteen minutes, which is about 75 to 150 images and about 2 to 3 songs.
It is recommended that if you are going to show your montage at your event,
that it does not go more than eleven minutes long, as some people tend to get
restless. We want your guest to remember your event as the most moving
celebration they have been to.
